‘Stephen Chan and Friends Presents’ is the first exhibition developed and curated by illustrator and graphic designer ‘Stephen Chan’ & ‘Odd One Out’ Gallery. Last year we started teaching the VFX course at Edge Hill University… Early news on the the ever expanding course.

TOP NEWS. Sparkle* and @BenIllustrator Collaboration! We’ve just teamed up with top illustrator Ben O’Brien to make his already very fluid illustrations come to life. We aim to work with Ben over the next couple of months, building his illustrations whilst retaining Ben’s amazing style. We’re really excited as its a great challenge and honour to work with such a great illustrator. Check out his fluid animals, they provide one massive punch of inspiration in one small hit!! It’s @designival tomorrow and open studios start. Due to a few last  minute projects, building works and un-expected bits and bobs… we’re not going to have a full compliment of staff to answer any questions… but we’ll still be here for 2 hours putting on Coffee, cakes and towards lunch time a nice bit of pulled beef taco’s!! And if theres a pressing matter we can make you an appointment to pop back on Friday. We can talk CG & post production and will review portfolios if required. Generally we’ll just be having a natter and a cake!!

@designival starts 22nd November. Sparkle* will have an open studio from 10am - 12pm. Cake, Coffee and pulled Beef!! Whilst stuffing your face we’ll be around for any advice on showreels or VFX/Animation issues. Come pick our brains on any pre/post production issues you maybe facing

This will run for one year and starts 13th November 2012. Only restrictions are that your business must be based in the Baltic Triangle or the finished piece must be heading for the Baltic Triangle. We’re giving away free stuff!!!

So.. me and Steve we’re talking over the weekend and we decided as this is 2012, year of impending doom, we’ll sift through our digital waste bin and make a section on our website to give away all the bits of 3D models, Nuke Scripts, Realflow set ups, Rigs etc that we’ve never used.. and it’ll stay there until 21st December 2012, in which timer you can use them for what ever you feel fit. So… watch the space, we’ll have something in place by midweek.
